2024 - Building Pre-School Classrooms, Tiling Floors & Re-Painting
We are working on the following projects at the end of 2023 to get ready for the 2024 school year.
- Building new classrooms for the 2 pre-school classes and adding a playground with swings and a teeter totter.
- Reworking the floors and tiling all 6 classrooms at the lower campus.
- Re-painting inside and out at the lower campus.
- Building soccer goals, netball stands and getting the sportsfield ready for play.
2025: We are also budgeting for adding additional classrooms for the upper campus over the next couple of years to complete the transfer to the upper campus.
2023 - Building 7th-9th Grade Classrooms & First Career Day

November 2023 - Career Day
- We held our first Career Day in November and had 4 different speakers from the community talk about their career and what it takes to focus and move towards your goals effectively.
- This will be an annual event at KEGO and we will make sure we continue to focus on helping to build the bridge to a better future after KEGO.
2023 - Building 7th, 8th & 9th Grade Classrooms
- Rippling Waters (RW) completed construction on classrooms for the 7th, 8th and 9th graders. The new contractor did an outstanding job in building these classrooms and the overall quality is excellent.
- The Kenyan government changed the curriculum for 2023 separating the elementary from Jr. High grades.
- The 7th grade class building was built before the 2023 school year and furnished with new desks to accommodate 35 seventh graders.
- Hired County Planner to lay out master plan for Upper Campus. Including location of additional buildings, latrines, soccer fields, and gardens.

2020-2022 - COVID Years
- COVID Regulations now require separate administration building by law.
- RW built a new administration building for the teachers and administration staff for grading schoolwork and taking breaks.
- Added additional latrines and water stations to keep the children, teachers and staff safe.
- Kego was closed off and on through this period but continued to pay the teachers and feed the children when the possible

2019 - Water Access & Books
- Rebuilt school fencing and front gates for better security for students and staff.
- Continued adding additional study books for teachers to have better access to learning tools for all children.

2018 - Restoration & Books
- KEGO Parents and volunteers painted the buildings and classrooms and repaired windows in a community effort with supplies donated by Rippling Waters.
- Added new blackboards, purchased books and study manuals for the children.
2017 - New Land & Water
- Rippling Waters purchased 2 acres of land to develop a larger campus and have room for a soccer field and well site.
- KEGO received a donation from the Wayside Nazarene Church to drill and install a new well.
- Rippling Waters purchased the piping, tank and pumping systems to deliver water to Kego and the Town of Onjinyo.
Rippling Waters installed a new water tower along with piping and a well to help supply the town of Onjinyo (where KEGO is located) with its own water.
2016 - Beginnings of a Partnership
- Rippling Waters starts working to help the children of KEGO Orphanage
- Re-built cafeteria and kitchen area with new metal sheeting and a re-poured concrete floor.
- Added peanut butter to the menu and continued delivering 2 meals per day to the children.
